Home Tour: Colonel James English House
One of the ‘must see’ areas of downtown Charleston is the Battery. In fact, if you’re planning a trip here, stop by a cute cafe, grab a lunch and take it to the Battery for a sweet picnic. You’ll be surrounded by one of the most breathtaking views Charleston has to offer – a taste of history mixed with beautiful South of Broad homes and the calming Ashley River. Simply enjoy it!
And, as you look and walk around, you just might spot the charming Colonel James English House, circa 1760; “a quintessential example of Downtown Charleston southern charm.”
I’m so in love… If my wallet cooperated, we would move today. π Sit back and enjoy this lovely historic Home Tour.
So, you enter through a private garden. Umm, yes, please. This one ranks up there in terms of beauty and charm.
Staying outside, this backyard reminds me a lot of our Queen Street property, and boy did I LOVE it.
Inside, the kitchen is fabulous. It’s open, modern and already updated, which gives the home a nice mix of old and new.
Most downtown, older homes do not have a large gathering room adjacent to the kitchen, but this home does! I can only imagine the number of cocktail parties that have and will occur in this home.
And, the rest of the home can just speak for itself…
What did you think? P.S. It’s on the market if you know someone who is interested. π
